Sizing your pet for the right crate for travel
The importance of accurately measuring your pet is very important for ensuring we get the correct size air kennel/pet crate for your beloved friend.
By law, airlines must abide by the minimum standards in the International Air Transport Association Live Animal Regulations (IATA LAR) – this requires pets to be able to stand freely without their heads touching the roof, turn around and lie down in a natural position without being cramped.
SO to ensure we get your pets right carrier size, please make sure to measure them for us – we need:
Length (their maximum length, from the tip of nose to their bum, without the tail)
Height (maximum height from the floor to the top of their head or ears)
Width (maximum width across their widest part, usually shoulders)
Length of their forelimb, from the elbow point to the floor
Weight
Don’t add any extra as we will work the extra space required!
Talk to us about ensuring we source the right carrier to suit your pets – for some pets, we can make their carriers more sound proof or cushioned if they are older, or if they are a short nose brachycephalic breed like Pugs, Lhasa Apso’s or even Persian cats, then we will always provide more room for them as well to reduce any chances of heat stress, that these breeds can sometimes have.
